Luke 1:46–47 – “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”
The 2026 Episcopal Church stewardship campaign, “Tell Out My Soul,” celebrates faith, gratitude, and generosity. Rooted in scripture and community, it calls us to share God’s abundance joyfully. Through prayer, service, and giving, we strengthen ministries, support mission, and witness God’s love, ensuring vibrant spiritual growth for future generations.
Stewardship Reflection on Luke 1:46–47
“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”
When Mary sang these words, she was not in a palace surrounded by wealth and comfort. She was a young woman of humble means, standing in awe of what God was doing in her life. Yet her soul overflowed with joy, gratitude, and hope. Mary understood that God’s blessings are not measured in possessions but in God’s faithfulness, mercy, and love.
Her song—the Magnificat—is more than personal praise; it is a proclamation. Mary’s soul magnified the Lord not only with her lips but with her life. In the same way, we are called to let our lives reflect God’s glory. At Christ Church, we have always shared our time, talents, and treasures to shine forth as signs of God’s abundance in us. Stewardship, then, is not simply about giving money to the church; it is about allowing each one of us to shine in a way we know best.
When we give, we join Mary in rejoicing in God our Savior. Our offerings—whether of prayer, service, or financial support—become part of the song of the church, telling out God’s love to the world. Each gift, no matter its size, magnifies the Lord by helping ministries flourish, feeding the hungry, teaching the Gospel, and nurturing faith across generations.
As we embark on this 2026 stewardship journey, let us ask: How will my life magnify the Lord? How will my spirit rejoice in God my Savior? May our answer be seen in faithful giving, joyful service, enthusiastic participation and a shared commitment to tell out God’s love in our time.
What is Stewardship?
God has given each of us many gifts. Stewardship is our commitment to be grateful, responsible stewards of those gifts. How we use our gifts should reflect what is most important to us. Stewardship is part of our Christian responsibility and applies to money, time, talents, volunteer work – everything! Stewardship builds relationships with generosity.
What is a Pledge?
A pledge is a commitment to support God's work in this parish. This financial commitment supports our parish's mission and ministry for 2022. By pledging, you are investing in your spiritual home so that Christ Church may continue to welcome others in worship and fellowship and to serve South Amboy and surrounding communities. While your gift enriches worship and events on our grounds, your gift supports our mission in all directions
How Much Do I Give?
Christ Church, like every other Episcopal Church, is a non-profit. Everything we do to serve our community is only possible because of the gifts we -+receive.
Deciding on the amount of your pledge starts with prayers of gratitude for all that God has given you. Your decision continues with prayer to God about the role of Christ Church in your life and how this community has shaped you. What are your hopes for Christ Church South Amboy?
Some consider their pledge a sacrificial offering, returning a percentage to God from what God has given. Your pledge should be a joyful reflection of God's generosity and grace at work in your life. Father George Karney always says, "Don't give until it hurts; give until it feels good!"
Our Promise to You
At Christ Church South Amboy, we aim to be the best stewards we can of every gift we receive, as we grow in faith together in Jesus' name.
